The energy efficient design of the home incorporates a photovoltaic system with automatic petrol generator for backup, rainwater tanks (used as shading devices on East & West walls), Enviroflo gutters, Clivus Multrum compost toilet system and greywater system.

The design incorporates curved roofs and ceiling to promote convection currents and cross ventilation for temperate control and maximum energy efficiency.
