Strine Environments is committed to maximising eco-efficiency in all areas of operations to improve the management of energy, waste and water. Strine Environments will demonstrate this commitment through the manner in which it conducts its business and ensure sustainability and climate change is a key consideration while undertaking any form of procurement of goods and services.
Turn off all computers, including monitor, at the end of each working day.
Turn off monitors when leaving the work station for more than a couple of minutes.
Turn off all lights at the end of each working day. Turn off office lights when leaving the office even for a short period.
All workstations are to have paper recycling boxes, and all paper is to be recycled and the boxes emptied regularly in the recycle bin.
Recycled paper is used where possible for any printed matter.
Only print what is absolutely necessary. Print double sided wherever possible. All effort is to be made to minimise the "left over" printed material that is not picked up from the printer.
Each work site is to maintain a recycle station and ensure all material suitable for recycling is appropriately treated.
All lunch rooms are to have recycling facilities.
All new motor vehicles should be hybrid or dedicated LPG or fitted with duel fuel, in which case LPG will be used as the primary source of fuel. Site and 4x4 vehicles will continue to use diesel until a reliable energy efficient fuel source is available.
Ensure "recyclability" is an essential criterion when selecting items of stationery, consumables and minor plant & equipment for purchase.
